I've been mentioning it here and there, but it felt worth noting that it's where I've been focusing all my dance-related energy these days. It's so amazing to see what has happened in just a year since Step. It's a way more challenging piece, both for us as dancers and for the audience. I can't wait to hear what people have to say about it. And I can't wait to get onstage and dance the hell out of it.

You may also have seen the incredible images that Clare Critchley took of Lavish. Here we are, looking both badass and pretty :)

I've been working really hard in and out of the studio lately. Lots of dancing, lots of running, lots of moving, lots of practice. I have been feeling incredibly driven. Even choreographically. I've been working on a separate piece with Danielle Davies as well, and the amount of work we've been able to generate, quickly and effectively together, is pretty amazing. Collaborating on choreography is pretty exhilarating because you do end up with a product that's more than the sum of its parts.
I registered to go back to Tribal Massive again next year, and I'm already excited. I could tangibly feel a difference in my dancing when I returned this year, and I want to squeeze as much as I can out of those kinds of opportunities.
I'm excited because this weekend I'm going to start work on a headpiece for Affogato. I'll write a post about it.
Anything else? Well I'm making a vague and possibly breakable goal of running a half marathon in October. We'll see how that goes.
EDIT: Also check out how I'm totally "dancer of the week" on the Lavish site.
I'd love to be able to see Affogato. The little snippet that we covered in Audra's workshop really piqued my interest. I'm sure it'll be lovely.
