so much goodness happening this fall

I am very proud to announce that I will be dancing with the stunning Danielle Davies at the Toronto Women in Dance 2011 Showcase at the Toronto Centre for the Arts on October 15!

Danielle and I started working together officially in April of this year, but we'd been talking about creating work together for almost a full year at that point. We made choreography for the Bassnectar remix of Lights by Ellie Goulding and found that working together was even better than we hoped. We dance pretty differently and have incredibly different backgrounds, but somehow creating work collaboratively has just been amazing. Our ideas seem to run into each other, and the end product of our first work was definitely really fulfilling for us both.

We start work on our new piece really soon and I'm already so excited. The music and concept are already mapped out so we're both itching to get into the studio and lay it down.

Here comes another big adventure!

Next bit of news! I have also started teaching regular classes at the Dark Side Studio. I teach Basic Black on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Basic Black, Combinations and Lavender every other Saturday (Audra and I switch weeks!)

You should definitely come out to class with Audra or myself (or if you come on Saturdays, both!) and see what the studio is all about. Classes are off to a great start, and there are a lot of really interesting and exciting things happening around these parts this fall. Those things include:

• workshops with Heather Stants
• auditions for a brand new choreography class
• the BIG MOVE to our new space at 244 Augusta Ave!
